Craft Packs

During lockdown a local organisation had a call out for Artists who could create craft packs that would be distributed to women’s refuges. I thought that this was an amazing way to support access to the arts. I was very nervous as I had never done anything like this before but was thrilled when my bid was accepted. I designed a craft kit to enable people to create their own little fairy garden. The process involved sourcing all of the components, packing the kits and of course writing the instructions. It was quite a challenge breaking down the process into small illustrated steps, but I loved it. Since the first pack, I have made two more sets. A set to make a quirky creature scene and a set to make a felt decoration. My favourite was the felt hedgehog decoration for mothers to make with their small children. For this one, instead of instructions there was a story to make along to. I hope to make more of these in the future.
